Blues for Yous!
People were treated to some smoldering blues and roots music. It was an evening of soul-rattlin’ song, rich rhythms, smokin’ guitar and yearning harmonica. Despite the intense snow outside, people came in droves to hear the music. When Dalannah’s keyboard player refused to show up due to the snow, our Harpoonist and Axe Murderer came to the rescue in a beautiful and magical way that will always be remembered. The result was a warm and intimate evening where lots of friendships were made.

Performers: The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, Dalannah Gail Bowen

Voices of A’capella
In the House took us on a journey through the wor(l)ds of a’capella. Who needs instruments when you’ve got voices like these! From gospel to barbershop with a slight detour through the sexy strains of some sassy ladies and the vocal magic of some seriously ass-kickin’ beatboxing, ears were filled with gorgeous melodies and thumpin’ beats.

Performers: West Coast Fusion, Little Wheel Gospel Sextet, Marmaladies, Shamik

The Vagina Monologues
In the House presented a poignant, fun, and ribald evening of theatre.

The Vagina Monologues
is a poignant and hilarious tour of the last frontier, the ultimate forbidden zone - it is a celebration of female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery. Author, Eve Ensler, gives us real women’s stories of intimacy, vulnerability, and sexual self-discovery. The Vagina Monologues has been performed all over the world and has inspired a dynamic grassroots movement--V-Day--to stop violence against women. Witty and irreverent, compassionate and wise, the Obie Award-winning masterpiece gives voice to women’s deepest fantasies and fears, guaranteeing that no one who experiences the play will ever look at a woman’s body, or think of sex, in quite the same way again. www.vday.org

Proceeds from the show were donated to the WISH Women’s Shelter. www.wish-vancouver.net
